About Us

Our Philosophy
Park Avenue Christian School desires to "Equip the Saints for Service, and Edify the Body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12). Our church understands that the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) extends to all ages, and it is this desire to equip students and partner with their parents in training up their children (Proverbs 22:6) that drives this ministry. We do not exist to replace parents, but to aid them in the task that the Lord has given them in teaching their children (Deut. 6:4-9). The mandate for Christian education comes from God's command that parents are responsible for the total education of their children.
Christian education is a Bible-based, Christ-centered process leading the student to Christ and equipping him/her with knowledge, skills, and attitudes for effective Christian service. Being a Christian school, all of our subjects are taught from a thoroughly biblical worldview. We endeavor to produce students who know what they believe, and why, and are able to defend their faith in a world that is increasingly antagonistic towards Christianity.
The beginning of wisdom is found in "the fear of the Lord" (Proverbs 9:10); therefore, all intellectual pursuits ought to be completed out of the desire to glorify God. Students are taught that all knowledge and wisdom comes from God, and all truth is God's truth - including history, geography, science, language, and the arts; and that Jesus Christ is to be central in all learning and living. Our school partners with parents to provide quality Christian education which will assist in the child's academic, social, physical, and spiritual development.

History
Park Avenue Christian School (PACS) is a ministry of Fountain of Life Christian Fellowship and stands without apology for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the highest standard of morality and Christian behavior.
Park Avenue Christian School was founded in 1979, out of a prayerful desire to provide a quality education in a Christian environment. We felt it was essential to build responsible people of character with a Christ-centered foundation. In 1985, we added a Home School Program (see "Home Schooling" for more information) to our school to assist those who could not attend a Christian school in their area and for those who preferred a home school situation. As the schools have grown, we have
endeavored to keep our focus on building Christian character while striving for excellence in

the area of academics.
Graduates from PACS have been accepted to colleges and universities in both Missouri and out of state, and have been recipients of scholarships ranging from $750.00 per semester to fully paid tuition, room & board. PACS students have graduated from Harvard, UC Berkely, Washington University, Drury, Southwest Baptist University, Valparaiso University, and many others. Former PACS students have found their callings in many different fields, including: Law, Bio-Chemical Engineering, Education, Medicine, Psychology, Business, Communications, Theater, and Missions.

Our Faculty & Staff
Park Avenue Christian School teachers are selected for their academic qualifications, experience,
and Christian testimony. Each teacher and full-time aide is trained in the methodology of the Accelerated Christian Education program with annual professional development workshops presented by A.C.E. This helps keep their knowledge and skills fresh and up-to-date. Our staff  meets daily to pray for the school, and the students, because we know that this type of ministry is not possible without God's help.
As a ministry of Fountain of Life Christian Fellowship, the pastors and church elders are the final authorities. The principal of the school is an associate pastor of the church, and is under the authority of the remaining pastors and elders. He has been appointed by the pastors and elders to direct all activities and personnel, including teachers, office staff, and volunteers, as well as to be certain that the best interest of the church and school is maintained in all school activities. The teachers supervise the classroom and student activities under the oversight of the principal.
